Chronic Allergy with Delayed Healing Risk

History and Clinical Findings: Walter, a 12-year-old MN dachshund mix, had a history of chronic allergic disease managed with cyclosporine and was undergoing evaluation for suspected Cushing’s disease. He underwent CO₂ laser excision of 2 forelimb masses, including one located near the elbow. Based on his underlying conditions and a history of delayed healing with previous similar procedures, prolonged wound healing was anticipated.

Outcome with KeraVet Gel: KeraVet Gel was applied postoperatively to the surgical sites. Despite multiple risk factors for delayed healing, the forelimb incisions demonstrated faster-than-expected healing. Reduced licking was observed, and the wounds showed consistent improvement. The pet parent reported noticeable clinical benefits and requested additional KeraVet Gel for continued use.
