Dehisced Incision Following Spay
KeraVet Gel supported non-surgical healing and tissue repair
History: Lexie, a 1.5-year-old FS German Shepherd Dog, underwent ovariohysterectomy on 11/10/25.
Clinical Findings: On 11/14/25, Lexie’s owner reported concern for partial opening of the incision and sent a picture for evaluation (Day 4). KeraVet Gel was started TID. No antibiotics were prescribed. The owner declined use of an E-collar; a donut-style collar was used instead.
Outcome with KeraVet Gel: The owner submitted a follow-up picture a couple days later (Day 6) demonstrating progressive improvement of the incision. A final image (Day 14) confirmed complete healing without complication in a couple of weeks. The incision healed successfully with topical KeraVet Gel and without the need for systemic antibiotics or surgical intervention.
