Every Biopsy Gets KeraVet Gel
I use a lot of KeraVet Gel. All post-op biopsies and surgeries receive it on surgical sites to encourage healing and discourage post-op licking. I occasionally use it on acral lick granulomas as well, with variable results. Some of these crazy dogs will still lick off the KeraVet Gel. How they can stand the bitterant is beyond me. KeraVet Gel has helped us improve post-operative wound care and patient outcomes.

Sent Home with All Surgical Patients
As a Fear Free certified veterinary hospital, we do not use E-collars. KeraVet Gel is part of our standard protocol for all surgical patients, including spays, neuters, and mass removals. Resolution of Chronic Lesion
Biscuit, a FS 2-year-old indoor/outdoor cat, presented for a 1/4 cm crusty lesion on her head with a wound underneath it that had been present for 6 weeks.  After cleaning the area, she was sent home with KeraVet Gel TID without antibiotics.  The wound was fully healed on recheck!

TPLOs and Fracture Repairs
We have seen good results! We have used it on dogs with MRSA and it worked when nothing else would–including oral antibiotics. Degloving Injury
I was able to use the product on a dog that had a degloving injury to his toe, and it worked great! Prior to application the wound was healing slowly but then once we started using it the granulation tissue got so much better and the skin started regrowing. The wound decreased in size by >25% within just one week.

Stops the Lick
I used one tube on a post operative case to deter licking and one on my own dog with a small wound that she was licking. I can verify that it tastes really bad! It seems to be helping healing on my dog, at least it's made her leave it alone. I look forward to trying this product on more cases.
