Treating the next generation of patients
By Michelle Barson, KeraVet Bio Staff
Throughout the years the way we speak about our pets, treat our pets, care for our pets, and incorporate them into our families has continued to evolve. Perhaps that’s because more U.S. households than ever have at least one pet.
According to American Pet Products Association (APPA) pet statistics, approximately 70% of U.S. households have at least one pet, making that the highest level ever reported on record. The increasing number of pets, along with their changing importance in the household, is exemplified in the evergrowing pet market. Nearly $123.6 billion was spent on U.S. pets in 2021, with $34.4 billion spent on “Vet Care & Product Sales.” It is estimated that 45% of American pet owners spend the same amount of money (or more) on the healthcare needs of their pets than they do on themselves, as detailed on Fortunly.com.
At KeraVet Bio, we love our fur babies and nearly all of us are pet parents ourselves. CEO and Chief Science Officer, Dr. Luke Burnett, has three dogs and a cat and allows all staff to bring their pets to work. It makes for a lively and enriching environment that keeps our fur babies entertained and loved while we work.
KeraVet Bio understands the struggles of being a pet parent intimately. We want to help remove hurdles associated with caring for our pets by offering KeraVet Gel as the “go-to” skin and wound management solution. One of the many reasons that skin issues and wounds don’t heal well, or become worse, is due to pet parent fatigue. Complex care instructions and more frequent product applications may contribute to this pet parent fatigue leading to treatment noncompliance.
KeraVet Gel is designed to offer the following benefits:
- Simple instructions for use
- Ease of application
- Fewer product applications
- Replace the need for multiple products
- Reduce the use of secondary wound dressings
